
Spring Season – Boys U13 & U15
The NESLL Spring program has been the foundation of the NESLL program. Entering its tenth season, the Spring Boys program features a total of 28 teams and close to 600 young athletes.
Regions – Teams are formed in eight regions with players from Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Hampshire and Maine.

Age Groups – The Spring program has two age groups:
U15 – Players born in 1997 and 1998.
U13 – Players born in 1999 and 2000.
U11 – Players born in 2001 or later.
Levels of Play – The league features two levels of select players. The top players within each region form the NESLL Black team. The second level of select players make up the NESLL Blue team.
Selection Process – All youth players wishing to try out for the NESLL Program must attend NESLL Tryouts held in the early Fall. The tryouts are held at multiple sites over several weekends. A group of impartial judges grade the payers on their lacrosse ability, athleticism, and knowledge of the game. Teams are announced in November.
Clinics and Training – Over 200 clinic sessions are held over the course of the winter designed to enhance the skills of the players and to develop their knowledge of the game. The Clinicians include many top high school coaches as well as former college and current college players.

Coaches – NESLL requires all of its youth coaches to complete the US Lacrosse Level 1 training. Many of the NESLL coaches are current/former high school level coaches or former players of the game.
League Rules – The NESLL program utilizes NCAA Rules with some slight modifications. Games are played with four (4) 12 minute, stop-time periods. Two referees are used for all games.
The Season – Each NESLL team plays an eight game regular season. At the end of the regular season the teams are seeded and compete in the NESLL Play-off Jamboree to determine the champion of each division. All teams play a minimum of two games at the Play-off Jamboree.

Summer Program
The NESLL Summer Program is recognized as one of the top programs in the country by Inside Lacrosse and the college coach community.
Teams
High School – 2015, 2014, 2013
Youth – U13 South, U13 West, U13 North, U15 South, U15 West, and U15 North.
Age Groups:
2013 – Rising Seniors.
2014 – Rising Juniors.
2015 – Rising Sophomores.
U15 – Players born in 1997 and 1998.
U13 – Players born in 1999 and 2000.
U11 – Players born in 2001 or later.
Selection Process – Players wishing to try out for the NESLL Summer Program must attend NESLL Tryouts held in the early Fall. The tryouts are held at multiple sites over several weekends. A group of impartial judges grade the payers on their lacrosse ability, athleticism, and knowledge of the game. Players are selected for the Summer Program based on tryout scores, prior season performance, and coaches recommendations.
Clinics and Training – The Summer Youth players are able to attend clinics that are held over the course of the winter designed to enhance the skills of the players and to develop their knowledge of the game. High School players will have an eight session winter practice package. In addition, the high school players will receive speed & agility training through the winter scheduled in conjunction with the winter practices. The Clinicians include many top high school coaches as well as former college and current college players. The athletic training is managed by Athletic Evolution, Woburn, MA.
Coaches – NESLL requires all of its youth coaches to complete the US Lacrosse Level 1 training and its high school coaches to complete the US Lacrosse Level 2 training. All of the NESLL high school head coaches must have prior high school/college coaching experience. NESLL Summer Program head coaches are non-parent coaches.
Practice – The Summer team practices will begin in early June and will run through mid-July. The normal practice schedule includes two practices per week. The High School teams will practice at the Belmont Hill School and the Youth teams will practice regionally. The High School practices will include a speed & agility component that is run by Athletic Evolution.
College Recruitment Program – The NESLL High School Program has been very successful in assisting our players achieve their dreams of playing collegiate lacrosse. See where our Alumni are currently playing – link to “Alumni Page”.
We spend the time to help our player make the best choice for them both athletically and academically. We provide the following for our players:
- Assistance in selecting the summer camps best suited for each player.
- Profile booklets that are provided to college coaches at the tournaments – these include all of the player’s academic and athletic achievements.
- NESLL College Recruitment Night – appearances by college coaches, Alumni parents, college funding professionals and others provide the “Do’s and Don’ts” of the college recruitment process.
- Communication with the college coaches.
- Guidance with player communication to the coaches.
Summer Tournament Selections – We strive to place our teams into tournaments that will provide maximum competition and exposure for our players.
